When building a meta Warzone loadout, using the best perks possible is a must to make sure that you aren’t being held back.
After all, perks are the backbone of different playstyles, providing unique effects that make certain plays possible. Using weaker perks will leave you at a big disadvantage, making it harder to win games and rack up kills.
So, if you want to know which ones to choose to get the most out of Warzone’s best weapons, here are the best perks to run as of Season 2.
Article continues after adTIER | PERKS |
---|---|
S | Alertness, Gung-Ho, Mountaineer, Sprinter, Survivor |
A | Ghost, Quartermaster, Quick Fix, Scavenger, Tempered, Tracker |
B | Birdseye, Bomb Squad, Cold-Blooded, Grenadier |
C | Reactive Armor, Reflexes, Resolute, Veteran |
Keep in mind, even if a Perk gets ranked in C-tier, it can still be useful in the right hands. After all, different players will have preferences based on different playstyles. In saying that, the S-tier and A-tier Perks will generally provide more value and are worth using in every Warzone loadout.
Even though Warzone has 19 Perks, only a little over half of them are viable. Although some of the lower-ranked options offer interesting effects, they are one-dimensional and too situational to recommend using over the meta choices.
Article continues after adThe perk meta hasn’t changed much in Season 2, with the only big difference being Mountaineer replacing Dexterity and Survivor becoming more popular as the community has discovered its true value.
Otherwise, the likes of Alertness, Gung-Ho, Sprinter, and Ghost remain meta options that are key to enabling a wide range of playstyles. You’ll want to experiment around with the perks we’ve ranked in either S-tier or A-tier and see what works best for you.
Best Warzone controller settings: Aim assist, sensitivity, response curve, & more

Since Warzone’s time-to-kill speed is so fast, firing first in a gunfight is a massive advantage. With High Alert equipped, you can locate enemies more efficiently and engage in a gunfight before they have the chance to strike.
Perk description: Reduced movement penalties when reloading or using equipment. Reload while Tac Sprinting.
Gung-Ho is an S-tier perk, as it allows you to constantly stay on the move. Even when you are reloading or using equipment, nothing will stop you from playing fast and setting the pace of a gunfight. It’s got some steep competition, but this Perk 3 is still a meta option for aggressive players.
Article continues after adPerk description:Take less fall damage.
Taking less fall damage is simple but effective. What this means is that you can take routes that other players won’t be able to follow. For example, you could jump off a rooftop and heal up to escape an otherwise deadly situation. This alone makes Mountaineer one of the best perks in Warzone.
Perk description:Can Tactical Sprint indefinitely.
Similar to Mountaineer, Sprinter’s lone effect is straightforward yet still impactful. Being able to Tac Sprint forever lets you get around the map faster without having to use your melee weapon. Sure, running with a knife yields similar results, but all it takes is one surprise enemy, and you’ll sure have wished you had a gun out instead.
Article continues after adPerk description: Start regenerating health more quickly. Your allies revive you faster when you’re Downed.
Faster revive speed and a reduced health regen time are both excellent benefits to have. They don’t just provide an advantage for more aggressive players, but also those who prefer a slower-paced playstyle too. This is one of those rare perks that everyone should consider regardless of playstyle, as it makes your squad more difficult to finish off.

UAV spam in Warzone is a common problem, as players often spend all their money purchasing the Killstreak to reveal where other squads are. If all three teammates coordinate and have Ghost equipped, this playstyle no longer affects your team, although you’ll need to stay on the move.
Perk description: Recharge equipment over time (50 seconds).
Every squad needs at least one player with Smoke Grenades equipped. Without this tactical equipment, rotating across large open areas makes you an easy target. However, loadouts only get a limited amount of Smoke Grenades, so Quartermaster ensures that you never run out.
Article continues after adPerk description: Killing enemies or inserting armor plates immediately starts health regeneration. Can insert armor plates one-handed.
Aggressive players will want to use Quick Fix, as the Perk’s health regen bonus makes it possible to engage multiple enemies at once without regrouping. In addition, the perk also saves you time while putting on armor plates, which can make all the difference in a heated duel.
Article continues after adPerk description:Start equipped with maximum reserve ammo for your primary weapon. Resupply ammo equipment, and plates from dead enemies.
Article continues after adThe benefits of Scavenger are useful, as it ensures you are constantly stocked up on ammo and ready to fight whenever needed. Just keep in mind that this perk is better suited to more aggressive players, as your average Joe isn’t going to be getting into enough gunfights for this perk to matter in the first place.
Perk description: Refill armor plates to full with two plates instead of three.
Armor plates are not always easy to find, and you can run out quickly when constantly engaged in heated gunfights. With that in mind, Tempered eliminates the need to continually re-equip armor, saving you resources and speeding up how long it takes you to fully heal.
Article continues after adPerk description: See enemy footsteps. Bullets you fire briefly outline an enemy for you and your squad.
Article continues after adInformation on your enemy’s location is vital in Warzone, and that’s exactly what Tracker provides. Being able to see footsteps and automatically mark enemies for your squad makes it much easier to plan your next move, making it a fantastic perk for teams looking to go on the offensive.
Perk description:UAVs you call in are 25% larger and show the heading of the enemy for your squad. Detects players with Ghost.
Article continues after adBirdseye acts as a direct counter to Ghost, as you can locate players on your UAV even if they have the Perk equipped. It won’t be for everyone, but this is a good choice when used by more aggressive players trying to chain UAVs and rack up as many kills as possible.
Perk description: Reduces incoming explosive and fire damage. Spot enemy equipment and Killstreaks through walls.
It’s up for debate if a perk that counters equipment is worth using in Warzone, but if that is something you have trouble with, Bomb Squad quickly makes it an issue of the past. With this perk equipped, you will never die to equipment again, which makes it decent enough.
Article continues after adPerk description:Undetectable by AI targeting and thermal optics. Prevents some enemy recon perks and effects.
Countering Alertness gives Cold-Blooded some potential, but that alone isn’t enough to outrank higher-tier perks. Realistically, this perk’s secondary effects aren’t that useful either, as thermal optics are not common, and “AI targeting” doesn’t really exist at all outside of multiplayer.
Perk description:Explosive damage slows enemy health regen and movement speed. Throw equipment farther and see a previous of the trajectory.
Article continues after adWhile powerful, Grenadier will rarely be active, as hitting enemies with a grenade or other explosive devices only happens occasionally. Even so, this perk does let you get the absolute most out of your equipment, and it has great synergy with Quartermaster, so there are certainly worse options.
Perk description: Your armor will regenerate up to 50% if you have not taken damage in the last 5 seconds.
While this may sound interesting, Reactive Armor is terrible. Not only does it only regen half your armor, which still leaves you vulnerable, but it also recharges very slowly. Warzone is too fast-paced to be waiting around, and it’s not even hard to stack up lots of Armor Plates these days anyway.
Article continues after adPerk description: Triggered explosives have a delay when sprinting past them. Creates an audible warning of nearby enemy equipment.
Reflexes itself is an okay perk, but it’s hard to justify using when Bomb Squad exists. If enemy equipment is such a big concern, use the perk that spots it well ahead of time rather than the one that warns you at the last moment.
Perk description: Taking damage from gunfire provides a boost to movement speed for a short duration.
Article continues after adThis is just a much worse alternative to Alertness. Why bother using a perk that only triggers after taking damage when there’s another perk that helps you avoid taking damage in the first place? Honestly, the TTK is so fast these days that Resolute is unlikely to save you anyway.
Perk description: Reduce the negative effects of some equipment. While aiming down sights reduce flinching and extend Hold Breath duration.
Article continues after adThe benefits while aimed can be nice for sniping, but otherwise don’t provide much. As for the immunities granted, they also aren’t that useful, with Flash, Gas, and Snapshot Grenades being rare sights. A perk like this makes sense in multiplayer but is a niche option at best.
